Top 2028 GA DT Kingston Brown Had Been Waiting On Notre Dame Offer

Kingston Brown‍ had been waiting for Notre Dame's offer.

When it finally came late last month, the 2028 Georgia defensive tackle didn't hesitate to place it among the biggest scholarships he has received, giving the Irish immediate momentum in what promises to be an intense recruitment for the next cycle.

"I have a lot of big offers, but this one is a major one for me," Brown told Irish Sports Daily. "I'd actually been waiting on that one for the longest and I feel like it's a very great opportunity to develop my game if I was to go there. So it means a lot."

The offer came during a phone conversation with Notre Dame defensive line coach Charlie Partridge.

"We chatted it up for a little bit," Brown said. "He was letting me know a couple things about Notre Dame and he surprised me with the offer. He said he'd been waiting on it. He watched my film and he loved it. He loved what he saw on film, so he said he wanted to go ahead and start to build the relationship."

The Carver High School standout is impressed with what head coach Marcus Freeman has created at Notre Dame.

"Really the development and the passion," Brown said when asked what has always stood out about the Irish. "I love the head coach and I really just like what they're building at Notre Dame."

Freeman's approach has also caught Brown's attention.

"Really his mindset and attitude towards the field," Brown said. "It's just no days off. I just like everything they're building about it."

His early conversations with Partridge only reinforced those positive impressions.

"Very cool guy, laid back," Brown said. "I like that he told me he's very aggressive when it comes to pass rushing, so I like to hear that."

The 6-foot-3, 265-pounder has also kept an eye on the talent Notre Dame continues bringing to South Bend, including incoming freshman defensive lineman Elijah Golden.

"I know a couple guys that they have brought in and that's committed, even Elijah Golden," Brown said. "I like his film. I've been watching him since he was in high school, so I can't wait to see what he does this year too."

Brown has never visited South Bend, but that's the next priority as he continues evaluating the Irish.

"To take a visit and then hopefully take my official visit and if it's home, maybe I'll commit one day," Brown said.

When he does make the trip, Brown already knows what he'll be looking for.

"I would like to see high energy and a very loud atmosphere," he said.

Brown plans to visit Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, LSU and Notre Dame this fall as he continues evaluating an offer list that also includes Florida, Florida State, Auburn, Texas A&M, South Carolina, Washington and Oklahoma State among others.

Although his recruitment is still in its early stages, Brown already has a clear vision of what will matter most when the time comes to choose a school.

"My relationship and if I feel like it's home for me, somewhere I'm comfortable at."
