It took longer than most thought it would for Rhett Lashlee to become a head coach. He was Gus Malzahn’s offensive coordinator at Auburn when he was 30 years old back in 2013 and called plays at three other programs before he finally was hired at SMU to replace Sonny Dykes.

Lashlee has done a fantastic job in his four seasons while guiding the program to 31 wins over the last three years and successfully handling the transition from the AAC to the ACC.
