Notre Dame isn't recruiting Deandre Bidden simply to be a typical receiver.
The Irish have made it clear they envision the Michigan standout becoming one of the offense's most versatile weapons.
Communication between Bidden and Notre Dame has remained steady since coaches were permitted to begin directly contacting members of the 2028 class on June 15.
"Everything's going good," Bidden told Irish Sports Daily. "It's starting to speed up. Now that June 15th hit, the coaches can talk to all the 2028s now, so I feel like it's starting to speed up."
Notre Dame wide receivers coach Mike Brown, recruiting assistant Justice Bathas and running backs coach Ja'Juan Seider have all been in regular contact with the Harper Woods High School standout.
Their message has been straightforward.
"Come be the next Jeremiyah Love, but at receiver," Bidden said. "They can do everything with me."
That's an appealing vision for one of the country's most dynamic athletes.
"It feels great knowing I can be used and be most valuable at all those positions," Bidden said.
Those conversations have built on the impression Bidden formed during his spring visit to South Bend.
"The love they showed me," Bidden said when asked what has stuck with him most about Notre Dame.
The expectation is that Bidden will be back in South Bend this fall.
"I should be going for the Miami game,” he said.
When he makes it back to South Bend, Bidden already knows what he wants to see.
"Them winning, going crazy as they should," he said. "Just seeing what this offense is going to do because it looks like they've got a good receiving corps on their hands."
Notre Dame won't be the only school getting a look in the coming months.
The 6-foot-1, 170-pounder is also planning game-day visits to Miami, Oregon, Auburn, Tennessee, Michigan and LSU.
Even with a lengthy list of contenders, Bidden says the program that ultimately lands him will distinguish itself through more than football.
"Relationships and the coaches being honest with me. And just the brotherhood and the culture of the program."
