Notre Dame defensive coordinator Chris Ash spoke following Thursday's practice. 

On linebackers playing off movement and not so much downhill: 
“Yeah, so for a linebacker, when the front is aligned, there's open gaps. And most of the time, they have a primary to secondary gap. We'll make some calls where those D-linemen are gonna move, they're gonna change gaps, whether it's one gap or two gaps.
