Andre Robinson is accustomed to receiving offers from some of the biggest programs in college football.
Still, the 2028 Florida defensive end described adding Notre Dame to his growing offer sheet last week as "unreal."
The 6-foot-5, 235-pounder landed the offer during a phone conversation with Notre Dame defensive line coach Charlie Partridge.
"It was really unreal," Robinson told Irish Sports Daily. "It was a real blessing to see the offer from Notre Dame."
For Robinson, the significance of the offer goes beyond Notre Dame's success on the football field.
"Just the school, the program, the culture they're building there, the culture they have right now, just everything," he said. "It made the offer such a blessing."
The Irish joined an impressive group of programs already pursuing the IMG Academy star, whose offer sheet includes Auburn, Florida, Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Washington and several others.
Partridge explained to Robinson what the Irish saw on film that convinced them to join that list.
"They just said they love my game," Robinson said. "They love how I am on the field."
The conversation also gave Robinson an opportunity to begin getting to know Partridge.
"He's a real nice dude," Robinson said. "He loves the game of football. He's a real nice coach. I really do like him."
The next step for Notre Dame will be getting the IMG Academy standout to South Bend.
Robinson hasn't visited Notre Dame yet, but hopes to change that this fall.
"I definitely want to get up to a game, check out the campus and everything," he said.
Robinson won’t have a checklist when he arrives. Right now, he's more interested in taking in all that Notre Dame has to offer.
"To be honest, I don't really know," Robinson said when asked what he'd want to see. "I just want to see the culture and everything. See the campus and just get to experience the place."
Robinson is excited for his first season at IMG Academy after transferring from New Jersey’s Camden High School.
"It was just a chance to come down here and compete versus the best people," he said of the move.
That focus on his season is also why Robinson isn't mapping out an extensive fall recruiting schedule just yet.
"I don't really know," he said of other potential visits. "I haven't really thought about it because I’m just really focused on the season and really focus on getting everything right this year."
When the time eventually comes to choose a school, Robinson knows what the biggest factors will be.
"Just a culture fit, where I'm at with the coaches and the relationships I build through the recruiting process. All that plays a part."
