Tahmere Brown hasn’t seen Notre Dame for himself yet, but the Irish have done enough to convince the 2028 New Jersey running back that South Bend needs to be one of his stops this fall.
Brown has built a strong relationship with Notre Dame running backs coach Ja'Juan Seider and has long been intrigued by the Irish, with former Notre Dame star Jeremiyah Love providing another reason for the 5-foot-11, 188-pounder to take a closer look at the program.
"It's really good," Brown said of his relationship with Notre Dame.
Most of that relationship has been built through Seider, who has remained in regular communication with The Pennington School standout.
Seider's message to Brown as he prepares for his junior season has been less about recruiting and more about taking the next step as a player.
"Basically just that this is a big year for myself and just to go out and ball, have a great year, use all the stuff that I've been doing this summer, all my game to improve and do it in the game so I can be great," Brown said.
Brown has enjoyed getting to know Seider beyond football as well.
"He's just a great dude in general," the Pennington, N.J., native said. "Just talking to him, he just seems like a great dude."
The next step in their relationship is getting Brown to campus.
Brown doesn't have a specific date circled yet, but does know Notre Dame will receive a visit sometime this season.
"I'm not sure when, but I know I am going out there this year,” he said. "I just want to learn more about Notre Dame in general, learn more about the program just so I can have a better feel about how they run stuff."
Notre Dame grabbed his attention as Love enjoyed enormous success in South Bend.
"I've always liked Notre Dame and then also I like Jeremiyah Love," Brown said. "That's really also something that grabbed my attention."
Brown owns an impressive offer sheet featuring schools like Ohio State, Oregon, Penn State, Tennessee, Florida, Florida State, USC, UCLA, Nebraska and North Carolina among others.
He's already seen several of his options in person, including Oregon, UCLA, USC, Rutgers and Ohio State. Now, Brown and his father are focused on getting to the schools they haven't visited yet so they can make more informed comparisons later.
"We've just been saying we're just going to get to all the places where we haven't been so we can just get there, see how it is,” Brown explained.
He isn't ready to begin eliminating schools yet, but already has a good idea of what he'll be looking for once that process begins.
"What will matter the most to me is just playing time, but also just the environment and then academics too," said Brown, who noted that he wants to study either Real Estate or Sports Business.
