Barry Alvarez inherited a Wisconsin football program that had won a total of nine games in four years. In his fourth season he won a Rose Bowl. That was his first of three Rose Bowl victories and he transformed the Badgers from an afterthought to consistently one of the top programs in the Big Ten.

There’s typically a drop off when a legend leaves a program, but that wasn’t the case at Wisconsin. Brett Bielema followed Alavrez and won 68 games in seven seasons.
