Finally, we’re here! After a season that was unfairly cut short and months of anticipation, we are days away from Notre Dame playing their first football game of the 2026 season.

There’s been plenty of excitement before each season I have covered the program. This will be my 12th season working for Irish Sports Daily and the Irish won 10 or more games in nine of the previous 11. They’ve made the College Football Playoff three times since 2018 and it should have been four.
