The first half was sloppy. The Irish offense was stagnant. Notre Dame had a lead, but it was a humbling performance overall with Wisconsin making it a game after 30 minutes and the Irish down two starters on defense due to injury.

It shouldn’t have been surprising that it was going to be a test for the Irish. The majority of programs scheduled cupcakes in week one and even though Notre Dame was a three touchdown favorite, I knew Wisconsin wouldn’t be a cupcake.
