2028 Indiana DL Joshua Rogers Sees Potential Fit At Notre Dame

Joshua Rogers‍ has watched Notre Dame since he was a kid.

On Saturday, the 2028 Indiana defensive lineman got the chance to stand on the field before an Irish game and picture what it would be like to eventually play there himself.

"I try to imagine myself when I go to all these kinds of visits," Rogers told Irish Sports Daily. "What would it be like to be in these games? I always enjoy doing that."

The 6-foot-3, 255-pound Brebeuf Jesuit standout made the trip from Indianapolis for Notre Dame's home opener against Rice last weekend. He does not have an offer from the Irish yet, but already has offers from Boston College, Kansas, Purdue and Missouri.

Saturday gave him another opportunity to learn more about a program he's followed for years.

Rogers toured Shields Family Hall and went onto the field to watch the Irish warm up before the game.

"It was good," he said. "It was a great experience. Good visit."

As a defensive lineman, Rogers naturally kept a close eye on Notre Dame's defensive front. What he saw during the game impressed him as the Irish defense produced a shutout and forced multiple turnovers.

"It was a very impressive showing," Rogers said. "Obviously the shutout, the turnovers, very impressive game."

Beyond the results, Rogers liked the way Notre Dame's defense is constructed and could envision himself playing within it.

"I like it a lot," he said. "I like the fit. I like the idea of me playing in that kind of scheme that they have going for me in the four-man front."

Rogers also had the opportunity to catch up with Notre Dame defensive line coach Charlie Partridge and defensive assistant Nick Sebastian. They told Rogers they liked his film and what they've seen from him so far this season. They plan to remain in contact as they continue evaluating him.

"They're good coaches," Rogers said of Partridge and Sebastian. "They're good people. They seem to care a lot about their players and what they're interested in, which I appreciate."

There hasn't been an offer yet, but the Indianapolis native isn’t trying to hide how meaningful one would be.

"It would mean a lot to me," he said. "Obviously I'm from Indiana, so to get an opportunity to play at the best football school in the state is always awesome to me.

"I've loved watching Notre Dame since I was a little kid, so it would really mean a lot to me."
