Caiden Snow has watched Notre Dame for years.
This past weekend, the 2029 Indiana tight end got to experience the Irish from a much different perspective, returning to South Bend as one of the nation's most heavily recruited young prospects.
“My visit was awesome,” Snow told Irish Sports Daily. “Truly loved the atmosphere and tradition within Notre Dame. I just loved the fan interaction within the stadium and everything as it was truly amazing.”
The 6-foot-4, 215-pounder has already collected offers from Alabama, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kansas State, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, Ohio State, Purdue, TCU, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, UCLA, Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech and Wisconsin, among others.
Notre Dame has yet to offer Snow, but the Irish have continued evaluating the Westfield High School standout, who had been to South Bend before Saturday's 27-10 victory over Michigan State.
Snow's latest visit began with a pregame tailgate inside Notre Dame's indoor facility, where recruits and their families heard more about the program.
“They talked about the family interaction and the education side of Notre Dame,” Snow said.
From there, Snow watched the Player Walk before spending time in the player lounge and speaking with members of the Irish staff. He then went down to the field for warmups before watching the game.
It didn't take long for the atmosphere to make an impression.
CJ Carr connected on a 61-yard pass to Micah Gilbert on the Irish’s first offensive snap, immediately bringing the crowd to life.
“I thought the game was great,” Snow said. “The 60-yard bomb to start the game really got the crowd going and I truly loved the stadium's energy.”
Snow also had an opportunity to speak with offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock and catch up with assistant tight ends coach Harris Bivin.
“I got to meet Coach Denbrock and speak with him about our season along with Coach Bivin and catching up with him from last year,” Snow said.
For Snow, that conversation with Denbrock could help point toward the next step in his relationship with Notre Dame.
The Irish typically don't rush the process with tight ends, and Snow believes getting back to South Bend for a camp would give both sides an opportunity to learn more about each other.
“I think the next step would be getting to a camp here soon in South Bend to spend the day with Coach Denbrock and learn his coaching style,” he said.
Snow has visited Kentucky already this fall and hopes to make a trip to Georgia this coming weekend.
The Irish may not have offered yet, but they aren’t starting from the same place as many of the other schools involved in Snow's recruitment either.
“It was amazing. Great tradition and great coaching to match it. Growing up, I've always loved Notre Dame and so to visit it once I've grown up a bit was a dream come true.”
