Grayam Beyer got a much closer look at Notre Dame earlier this month.
In fact, his perspective was close enough for him to picture himself wearing an Irish uniform someday.
The 2028 Michigan tight end was in South Bend for Notre Dame's home opener against Rice.
While in town, he got a look at the Irish's new facilities, watched warmups from the field and saw the Irish offense help blow out the Owls 52-0.
When asked whether he could envision himself playing at Notre Dame, Beyer's answer was simple.
"Definitely,” he said.
The 6-foot-5, 205-pounder from Grand Haven High School enjoyed several aspects of his visit, including a tour of Notre Dame's new football facility.
"I thought the new facility was sweet," Beyer said. "Obviously it's new, so everything's state of the art."
Beyer also had the opportunity to watch the Irish warm up from field level and noticed something different about their routine.
"They had a new warmup I've never seen," he said. "They warmed up as a team instead of in their own position groups. I thought that was pretty cool. When you're right up next to them, those guys are pretty big."
Beyer was impressed by what he saw once the game started as well.
"The atmosphere was good," he said. "They blew them out, so they came out strong and they stayed strong for pretty much the whole game. The second string didn't really let up either."
Beyer already owns offers from Bowling Green, Kent State, South Florida, Toledo and Western Michigan.
Notre Dame hasn't offered at this point, but Beyer is interested in continuing to learn more about the Irish and plans to stay in contact with the Irish into next year.
"I think a spring visit, come back in the spring," he said of the next step with Notre Dame.
