One play in the second quarter doesn’t swing a game, but it can feel that way sometimes.
Notre Dame ran a quarterback sweep on a play from inside the one-yard line on 3rd and goal. Based on Mike Denbrock’s reaction, it seemed like it may have been a check rather than what he had called. The Irish lost yards, but Marcus Freeman elected to still go for it to try and make it a 28-7 lead.
The Irish called a man beater, but got zone from North Carolina on that 4th down.
