2029 DB Kameron Lowe Even More Impressed With Notre Dame After Visit
Kameron Lowe already held Notre Dame in high regard coming into his visit to South Bend on Saturday.
After seeing the Irish coaching staff in action, touring the facilities and watching Notre Dame's defensive backs against Stanford, the 2029 Michigan defensive back came away even more impressed.
"It went great," Lowe said of the visit.
The Brother Rice standout has already assembled an offer list that includes Michigan, Penn State, Missouri, Pittsburgh, Purdue, Illinois, Kansas, Louisville, Iowa State and Boston College among others.
While touring Notre Dame's facilities was part of the experience, the Detroit native was particularly interested in spending time with the defensive coaches.
"I got to look around the facility," he said. "I got to talk to the coaches. I got to talk to the safeties coach, the DB coach, and just meet new connections for real."
The conversations also gave the Michigan defensive back an indication of what the Irish staff appreciates about his abilities.
"They like my size, my length and how I play," Lowe said.
He added that the coaches specifically mentioned his willingness to come downhill and deliver hits as well as his ability to make plays on the ball in the air.
Lowe also enjoyed watching Notre Dame's secondary in action, particularly freshman safety Joey O'Brien.
"I liked seeing Joey play in person," he said. "I know Leonard Moore was out, so I liked seeing Joey play as a freshman."
Getting a firsthand look at how the Irish coaches work with their defensive backs was another valuable part of the trip.
"I got a chance to see how they coach their DBs," Lowe said. "I liked that. It's very good."
The atmosphere inside Notre Dame Stadium added to the experience.
"The crowd stayed live, active," he said. "The student section was nice. I liked that. The Leprechaun, I liked that."
Lowe was also impressed by Notre Dame's performance against Stanford, particularly the way the Irish approached the matchup.
"They didn’t play down to their competition," he said. "They dominated how they should have."
The visit reinforced Lowe’s existing interest in the program and gave him more reasons to further develop his relationship with the staff.
"My impression is still very high on them," he said. "I like what I saw. I probably even like them a little bit more because I like the facility and everything. I like the coaching."
The next step is to maintain contact with the Irish coaches and potentially make another trip to South Bend.
"Just building a relationship with the coaches and hopefully getting back down here in the spring," Lowe said.
The Detroit native has other trips on his schedule as well, with plans to attend a Miami game next before visiting Georgia for its November matchup against Missouri.
