2028 LB Chris Morillo Set For First Look At Notre Dame
Chris Morillo is familiar with the voices waiting for him in South Bend, but the 2028 Florida linebacker isn’t quite as familiar with the faces.
That changes on Saturday when the 6-foot-2, 205-pounder makes his first trip to Notre Dame for the Irish's game against Miami.
"I haven't been up there yet at all, but I'm looking forward to meeting up with the coaches, seeing the game atmosphere and how they treat their game days," Morillo told Irish Sports Daily.
"Also seeing the game, because this game will definitely make a big impact on how the playoff brackets will look."
The contact between Morillo and linebackers coach Brian Jean-Mary and other staffers has been steady since the Irish offered in July.
"It's been great," Morillo said. "I've been talking a lot to their recruiting coordinator Tim Brown and a couple phone calls with Coach Jean-Mary."
The message from the staff has been about his own season and getting to the Midwest more.
"They want me to finish the season out strong and to come and visit more often, just because Florida and Indiana are very far from each other," Morillo said.
In addition to Notre Dame, Morillo's offer sheet includes schools like Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Miami, Ole Miss, Penn State, Tennessee and Texas A&M among several others.
The Hudson High School standout has already made visits to Arkansas, Florida, Penn State, Miami and Ole Miss this fall. After this weekend, he is scheduled to be at Missouri for its game against Georgia on Nov. 14, at LSU on Nov. 21 and at Texas A&M on Nov. 28.
Morillo plans to start narrowing his list this winter and could make a commitment toward the summer.
When the list does come down, he already knows what will drive the choice.
"I would say it's development, relationships and just the program."
