John Branham Jr. decided against hitting a ton of camps this summer, but the 2019 Ohio running back wasn’t about to miss Irish Invasion at Notre Dame this past weekend.

And he’s glad he didn’t.

“Everything went good,” Branham told Irish Sports Daily afterward. “They showed us around campus. They showed us around the football facility, did the tour of the locker room all of that stuff.”

The 5-foot-9, 195-pounder currently has offers from Cincinnati, Toledo, Ohio and Kent State along offers from several other schools, but saw something at Notre Dame he hasn’t seen elsewhere.

“It’s very different from all of the other colleges,” said Branham. “Other colleges say, ‘We’re the best and we’re the best.’ But I could really see how Notre Dame was different from all of the others from athletics to education.”

The Columbus native also enjoyed the event inside Notre Dame Stadium on Saturday night.

“The camp was good,” he said. “I think I was able to show them more quickness than anything.”

Branham appreciated his opportunity to work with Notre Dame running backs coach Autry Denson.

“He’s really intense,” the Northland High School standout said. “He showed me everything that we need to do.

“He said I did pretty good. He said they would go back and look at the film to evaluate it.”

Branham said he’d “be honored” if Notre Dame ever decided to extend an offer.

Invasion wrapped up Branham’s camp schedule for the summer.

“This was my last one,” he said. “This summer, I’ll work on speed and quickness and maintaining what I have. I have advanced summer school coming up too.”

He is hoping for the chance to return to South Bend at some point in the future.
