2020 East Noble (Ind.) quarterback Bailey Parker has impressed at many camps throughout the Midwest this summer and the 6-foot-1, 160-pounder got his chance to get in front of the Notre Dame staff on Saturday.

“I had a great time at Notre Dame,” Parker told Irish Sports Daily. “I thought I did pretty good. My 40 could have been better, but I haven’t run a 40 in a while.”

The Kendallville native embraced the chance to work with first-year quarterback coach Tom Rees. Parker was able to take advice and work on the few things Rees was able to point out.

“He’s a great coach,” stated Parker. “He taught me a lot and made it easy to understand everything. I like the drills he does. I had a good time, and it was a great experience with Coach Rees.

“He focused on footwork and drops. He really likes having quarterbacks throw on a line. If the ball needs to be on a line, then you need to throw it hard. He told us the difference between throwing on a line and then taking some off on different routes.”

Parker wasn’t overwhelmed by the atmosphere at Notre Dame as he had camped at Ohio State and Toledo recently.

“I felt like I threw the ball well,” Parker said. “I was comfortable throwing to the receivers. Coach Rees said I was throwing good and my drops looked alright. He also told me I needed to clean up my three-step drop.

“I did better than I did at the Ohio State camp. At Toledo, I felt I was more consistent. I just go out and do my thing. I do my best while I am out there.”

The camp season isn’t over for Parker as he plans to hit a few more schools before football kicks in at East Noble.

“I think I am going to do a couple more camps,” said Parker. “I don’t think the Notre Dame camp will be my last one of the summer, but I don’t know which ones right now.”
