Kirby Smart is 9-5 as a head coach at Georgia. That's not exactly stellar, especially when you consider his predecessor won 10 games in his final season before being let go.

The reason why their administration decided to let Mark Richt go and make Smart their only choice for the job had a lot to do with Smart's success at Alabama.
