The Breakdown: ND Defense vs Temple

It was a typical first game in a lot of ways with plenty of mistakes sprinkled in with some impact plays. But the defense played hard, the numbers were solid, and the end result was exactly what they wanted.

All in all, pretty, pretty good for Mike Elko's debut at Notre Dame. At the very least it is something to build on.

The Notre Dame defensive coaching staff was able to walk into the meeting rooms with their players and point out several good things they did on the field last Saturday.
