North Carolina Scouting Report - Defense

It’s been an ugly year for the North Carolina defense. After being lit up by both Louisville and Georgia Tech, they are near the bottom of most major statistical categories.

109th in yard per carry (4.97) and 113th in rushing yards given up per game. 106th in yards per attempt through the air (8.0). 113th in total defense and 107th in yards per play (6.21). There really is no way of sugarcoating it: they’ve played bad defense.

It’s strange because the personnel isn’t that bad.
