Zach Bowers‍ knows a bit about Notre Dame.

“I know it’s got great tradition,” the 2019 Arizona linebacker said. “It’s won national championships, it’s a great program and they win.”

The 6-foot, 220-pounder from Chandler High School will find out a whole lot more about Notre Dame when he visits South Bend for this weekend’s game against USC.

“I just want to learn about Notre Dame,” said Bowers. “I’m excited to see the game atmosphere and stuff like that.”

Bowers has early offers from Oregon State, Nevada and South Dakota State, but hadn’t heard much from the Irish until recently.

“This kind of my first actual contact with Notre Dame, but now they’ve been sending me flyers and stuff like that,” he said.

His first offer came back in the spring and the others followed.

“Oregon State came in the summertime, when I was on visit there,” he said. “Nevada was my first time in the springtime in May and South Dakota State came like a week after.

“It was really exciting, especially the first one.”

The Arizona junior, who has been clocked at 4.62 in the 40-yard dash, is also receiving interest from schools like Arizona State, Oregon, Nebraska and Fresno State.

“They like that I’m kind of like a balanced linebacker,” he said of college scouts. “I can cover in the passing game and also help against the run.”

Bracy has already made a few visits.

“I visited Nevada, Oregon and I just took a trip to Arizona State last weekend,” he said. “They were pretty fun. It was fun to go and experience new things and see what each has to offer.”

He has no other trips planned, but knows what he’s looking for in a school.

“What feels most like home. Say I chose to go out of state, somewhere I’d feel most comfortable.”
