Notre Dame Offer "Would Mean A Lot" To Douglass
Moses Douglass has made multiple stops at Notre Dame as an underclassman and the 2019 Ohio cornerback was back in South Bend on Saturday night to see the Irish play USC.
“It went well,” the Springfield, Ohio native said. “It was nice.
“I got to talk to Coach (Mike) Elston and some of the other coaches. I got to get on the field and all of that. I got to watch the defense really perform well.”
The 6-foot-2, 193-pounder has a very impressive offer sheet that includes the likes of Michigan, Alabama, Iowa, Louisville, Purdue, Duke, Vanderbilt and Kentucky among several others.
Notre Dame hasn’t offered yet, but he is one prospect it’s continuing to evaluate.
“They said they’re going to watch me and said I’d been brought up before,” said Douglass.
He said an offer from the Irish would be huge.
“It would mean a lot,” he said. “It would mean I could play physically and keep up mentally as well.”
Notre Dame is a school that’s been on his radar for years, so he knows how far the Irish defense has come under new defensive coordinator Mike Elko this year.
“It means they’re improving and that the defensive coordinator definitely put in work with them,” said Douglass.
He tried envisioning himself on the field at different times on Saturday.
“Especially when they come out during pregame and all of that,” he said. “I try to see myself doing that when I’m on the field.”
He certainly could picture himself playing in Elko’s scheme.
“Oh yeah,” he laughed. “Five DBs? Yeah, that’s a scheme I could be in.”
Douglass is planning to return to South Bend in the future.
“I’m going to try to get another tour in,” he said. “I haven’t been there in a while, so last time I had tour was going into my sophomore year.”
But for now, he’s eyeing other visit for the immediate future.
“I’m going to see if I can go to this Ohio State-Penn State game this week.”
