2019 defensive tackle Aaron Hall‍ was in South Bend on Saturday to watch #9 Notre Dame take down #14 NC State 35-14.

The Georgia native’s first impression of South Bend was a good one and he already is trying to plan a way to get back.

“I thought the visit was great, the facilities and the whole campus was beautiful; it was great,“ expressed Hall. “I want to try and come back up for a camp because I know it would be easier than the next game because my schedule is real busy.

“Even if I come up for an unofficial visit in the offseason just to see the campus a little bit more and meet people.”

The Jefferson High School standout, who has an early offer from Wake Forest, loved what he saw while walking through campus and what stuck out to him the most was Notre Dame’s unique athletic facilities.

“It was really nice,” he said. “Our host, she was majoring in Business and Technology and we got to go to the building she goes to. She did a great job showing us everything and it was really nice.

“I have been to several athletic facilities, but Notre Dame’s was a lot different than other ones. The weight room was a lot more spread out and they also had a turf field that was right next door that was pretty big and I liked that.”

After walking around campus and seeing everything he wanted, Hall was able to enjoy the atmosphere inside Notre Dame Stadium.

“It was electric, the fact that the students have to stand up the whole time, that was pretty cool,” he said. “They don’t sit down unless it is halftime, but other than that everyone is standing and cheering, it is nice.”

During the game, the defensive tackle watched Notre Dame as a whole, but really zeroed into his position group, specifically one Irish defensive lineman.

“I thought they played great, the defense played a heck of a game,” he said. “The defensive line had a good pass-rush and they were off the chain. I was really looking at number #53 (Khalid Kareem), he is good and I have been watching him and just seeing how he plays.”

The 6-foot-3, 278-pound Hall wasn’t able to talk to any players during his visit, but he was able to listen into head coach Brian Kelly’s address to the team after the game and also have a one-on-one conversation with a key Notre Dame staffer.

“We got to go into the locker room after the game and hear what the coach had to say to the team after the game,” said Hall. “I got to talk to (Director of Football Recruiting) Aaryn (Kearney). He just told me it was great to see me up there and that he hopes I come back.”

But before the junior standout returns to South Bend, he will be busy visiting other top FBS schools in the coming weeks.

“I am going to Wake Forest’s last game against NC State, and I am going to another Georgia Tech game and I might be going to South Carolina and several more.”
