Things are heating up for Joe Tippmann‍.

In recent weeks, the 2019 Indiana offensive lineman has picked up offers from Ball State, Cincinnati, Wisconsin and – just last night – Purdue to go along with another from Ball State.

“It’s truly awesome,” the Fort Wayne native said of the early offers. “I feel very blessed that I can get such an early start on everything.

“They say they like my size of course and they like the way I can move and they like my attitude.”

The 6-foot-6, 283-pounder visited Wisconsin last weekend and will be back on the road this weekend, when he heads to Notre Dame.

“There hasn’t been much contact, but my coach is friends with their line coach,” Tippmann said of the Irish. “He said he talked to him a couple weeks ago and he was seeing if he could get me up there for a game.”

The Bishop Dwenger High School standout is looking forward to the trip up to South Bend.

“I know the team has great traditions and everything,” he said. “I know they’ve been having a great season so far. It’s a great school with great academics and all of that kind of stuff.

“I want to try to see how their coaches are. I want to get a chance to meet some of their coaches. I just want to see what their schedule is on gameday and that kind of stuff.”

In addition to Wisconsin, Tippmann has already made stops at Indiana, Northwestern, Cincinnati, Ball State and Western Michigan. He doesn’t have any other trips planned at this point, but does know what he’s looking for in a college.

“I’m looking for somewhere I can get more of the academic side that can benefit me with whatever degree I finally decide I want to pursue.”
