Quick Update: 2018 CB Kyler Gordon
It's just past 2:00 a.m. ET and it could very well be decision day for 2018 Archbishop Murphy (Wash.) cornerback Kyler Gordon. The four-star prospect visited Notre Dame last weekend for the second time this fall. Gordon had previously been to South Bend for the season opener for his official visit.
Following the trip to Notre Dame for The Echoes, some felt there was a chance Gordon might not make it to Washington this weekend for his official visit.
Notre Dame went in-home this weekend on Thursday night, but Gordon was on Washington's campus this weekend.
The Huskies have come hard at Gordon to keep him home and getting him back around key commits is always a significant move as we saw last weekend at Notre Dame.
Washington did get some momentum on Saturday night as 2018 three-star linebacker Brandon Kaho flipped his commitment to the Huskies after being committed to BYU for over a year and a half.
Will Kaho's commitment give the Huskies enough momentum to persuade Gordon to stay home? Couldn't hurt.
It's long been a thought Gordon has planned to commit on December 17th, as it's his birthday. The 5-foot-11, 180-pounder has been low-key and conducted a thought out recruiting process, but would he commit so shortly after returning home from a visit to Washington?
We spoke to a source on Notre Dame's side of things on Saturday night and Gordon had a couple dates in mind for a commitment other than December 17th.
It will be very interesting to see what starts to come out on Sunday morning and if Gordon does go ahead and make a decision so quickly.
While a decision could come sooner than later, we do feel confident Notre Dame's staff have done all they can do in this recruitment and both sides had a great visit on Thursday.
