Recruitment Rundown: Lamb was narrowing his list down to a few schools when entered the final stages of his recruitment back in April, but there was still one school he was interested in that he didn’t have an offer from. When the Irish learned his interest was serious, they quickly let him know he had an offer. A month later, Lamb cut his list to Notre Dame, Oregon, Washington, UCLA and Penn State. With parents who are Penn State grads and a sister at UCLA, many assumed family would win out one way or another. Instead, Lamb’s family strongly encouraged him to make a “selfish” decision. He took an unofficial visit to South Bend in June and it was obvious he was extremely comfortable. By the end of July, Lamb knew he wanted to get the recruiting process behind him before the start of his senior season and pulled the trigger for the Irish. Lamb will enroll at Notre Dame next month.

Ground Zero 7-on-7 coach Armond Hawkins: "We didn't really play him at linebacker much, we were able to play him at cornerback because he's long and can run and can cover. When we first got Jack two years ago, we started training him to cover versus being a linebacker.

"In a nutshell, he's smart. He's a smart kid. He picks things up real quick…It's not that he's not strong, but once he gets cut, he'll be an action figure…He could end up in the middle, he could end up on the outside, he could end up playing rush end. He could end up doing whatever they want."

ISD expert Jamie Uyeyama: Lamb missed a good chunk of his senior season due to injury, but even his limited number of games he showed why he is such a good inside linebacker prospect. Previously from his junior film and from seeing him in a camp setting, I was well aware of his abilities as a coverage linebacker. His senior year gave more of a glimpse of him being a downhill tackle to tackle linebacker, which is what I love to see in someone projected to play the Mike.
