Recruitment Rundown: Jones earned his Notre Dame offer after working out for the staff at Irish Invasion heading into his junior season. The Irish immediately jumped into his lead pack and it was clear they weren’t going anywhere, but Jones wasn’t in a huge hurry to shut things down either. He planned to have a decision in March or April, but after a return visit to South Bend in February, Jones knew there was no reason to prolong the process. He chose Notre Dame over Michigan State, Nebraska, Ole Miss, Illinois and Northwestern.
ISD expert Jamie Uyeyama: Jones is going to be a boundary receiver for the Irish. I don’t see him developing into a top option, but I think he has the potential to be a strong possession receiver if he can play big like he did as a senior. I mean that literally. He is never going to be an elite athlete that can run by elite corners, so he’ll have to win with his size. If he does that, then he can have a bright future in blue and gold.
