Video: Epic Battle from ND commit Carmody and WVU commit McCabe
2018 Mars (Pa.) guard Robby Carmody showed up on a big stage on Friday as he took on YoutTube sensation and West Virginia point guard commit Jordan McCabe in the 2017 City of Palms Classic.
Carmody finished with 39 points. and McCabe scored 42 points, but Mars fell to Kaukauna (Wis.) 85-83.
McCabe went 13-for-21 from the field, 7-of-13 from behind the arc and 9-of-11 from the foul line. Carmody finished 14-of-23 from the field, 2-of-6 from three and 9-of-12 from the line.
The 6-foot-4, 185-pounder scored from all over the floor, but his ability to get to the cup impressed me. Carmody showed his three-point stroke, however, the ability to finish at the rim is going to be critical at the next level.
Carmody's two dunks standout, especially the one-hand slam, but overall it was an efficient performance that you would typically see from a Mike Brey guard.
