Joseph Made Impact At Junior Day
Even though he wasn’t officially announced as Notre Dame’s new safeties coach until Tuesday morning, Terry Joseph played an integral part in the Irish’s Junior Day this past weekend.
2019 Georgia cornerback KJ Wallace, who committed to the Irish after the trip, knew Todd Lyght before, but was excited to meet with Joseph and head coach Brian Kelly.
“They’re awesome, two genuine guys,” he said of Joseph and Kelly.
“Coach Joseph was just telling me you can’t get any better than Notre Dame really. They’re one of the top schools in the country academically and on the football field.”
2019 Tennessee cornerback Wesley Walker mentioned the time he spent talking with Joseph in addition to his chats with Lyght and defensive coordinator Clark Lea.
“The coaching staff is legit,” Walker added. “I knew Coach Lyght already, but adding Coach Joseph to the secondary as well is good. He knows what he’s doing.”
2019 New Jersey athlete Ronnie Hickman can do a lot of things on the field, but is being recruited as a defender for the Irish. Hickman got a glimpse of how Joseph works.
“When we first got there, I didn’t realize it was basically his first day on campus,” said Hickman. “He just got the job. I got to see how he teaches and I really like it. He said he’s a simple guy when it comes to teaching and wants to keep it simple for us
“I enjoyed watching him teach. We broke down some film and he spoke a lot about football, which was good.”
