JARRETT PATTERSON - OFFENSIVE LINE

ISD: 4-star

Composite: 4-star

Mission Viejo (Mission Viejo, Calif.)

6-foot-5, 285 pounds

Recruiter: Brian Polian/Jeff Quinn

Recruitment Rundown: The four-star prospect backed off his pledge from Arizona State in December and Notre Dame hasn't let up on Patterson ever since. Patterson took his official to Notre Dame in late January following official visits to Michigan and UCLA.

Many wrote the Irish off as it was late in the process but shortly after his visit to South Bend, Patterson declared the Wolverines were out and his final choice would come down to Notre Dame or UCLA.

The hiring of Jeff Quinn came at the perfect time as he was able to build a relationship with Patterson over the phone but also had a top-notch in-home visit with the Mission Viejo star with Brian Polian, Chip Long and head coach Brian Kelly.

ISD expert Jamie Uyeyama: I’m a big fan of Patterson. I think it will take some time for him to be physically ready to compete at a high level for the Irish, but when that time comes, I think he has the chance to be either a valuable utility player on the line that can play multiple positions or a very good starter.

His feet are good enough that he can play tackle. His best fit might be at guard or center, though. With the way Notre Dame’s running game uses so much pin and pull, an athlete like Patterson can develop into a very valuable player.
