NFL Combine Starts Tuesday
On Tuesday the NFL Combine kicks off, and Notre Dame will be represented with five players in Indianapolis. Running back Josh Adams, offensive tackle Mike McGlinchey, offensive guard Quenton Nelson, tight end Durham Smythe and receiver Equanimeous St. Brown will look to impress scouts over the next few days.
Don’t expect to hear too much until Friday as the first two days are going to be interviews and medical evaluations, which for Adams, will be very important as he has been a little banged up the last two years.
Adams and St. Brown are the two players with the most to gain as big numbers testing could be the difference between a day two or a day three selection. Both figure to interview well and test well for the most part. Adams has speed and size, but just how much speed does he have? St. Brown is much faster than people think at first look, but can he run a 4.4 or a low 4.5?
McGlinchey and Nelson don’t need much of an introduction for teams as the play the last three seasons speaks for itself. Interviews will be crucial for both for the simple fact that may push them over someone else as both will interview well.
Durham Smythe already made a name for himself at the Reese’s Senior Bowl and has risen up draft boards. The Texas native obviously wants to test well and not sure he’s more than a fifth-round guy at the highest.
You can catch the testing on the NFL Network starting Friday.
