Notre Dame extended the running back board on Monday night as 2019 Menomonee Falls (Wis.) standout Julius Davis‍ got an offer from the Irish.

The 5-foot-11, 190-pounder was with his family per Notre Dame running back coach Autry Denson’s request.

“I have been talking to Coach Denson for a while now,” Davis told Irish Sports Daily. “He asked to talk to my parents and me. He explained stuff to us and then offered. It was pretty cool they got to hear what a coach had to say.”

It wasn’t the first time Davis and Denson had been in contact as two have started to develop a relationship over the last several weeks.

“Coach Denson sends me motivational quotes he puts on Twitter and sends his players,” stated Davis. “We have a good relationship. We talk every now and then, but the quotes are nice to start off the day.”

The four-star prospect committed to Wisconsin in November and considers himself a hard commit to the Badgers.

“Right now, I am focused on Wisconsin,” explained Davis. “My parents and I definitely want to look at schools just to get that experience of being able by recruited, but I’m all Wisconsin right now.”

The decision to play in Madison was easy for Davis as he has followed the Badgers for most of his life and loves the offensive line he’d be running behind.

“I’ve been a Badger fan since I was younger,” stated Davis. “The coaching staff had a big part in my decision. The atmosphere and the fans at Wisconsin are awesome. The success with the other running backs played a big factor too.”

In addition to Notre Dame and Wisconsin, Davis holds offers from Buffalo, LSU and USC. Davis greatly appreciates the time and willingness of the out-of-state schools to come to Wisconsin to recruit him.

“I never thought this would happen,” Davis said. “Those big-time schools don’t come out to Wisconsin. We’re known for offensive lineman and linebackers, but to know they want to come up for a skill position is pretty cool.”

When it comes to his game, Davis loves to run over people, but he’s also making sure he adds some agility to his game to take some of the wear and tear off his body.

“I’m good at hitting the hole,” said Davis. “I run very physically because I like the contact. I’m working on making guys miss. I did a little bit last year, but I was mainly taking on four or five guys. I’m going to try and juke people a little more.”
