Notre Dame QB Commit Cade McNamara Racking Up The Offers
It’s been a big month for 2019 Damonte Ranch (Nev.) quarterback Cade McNamara. The Notre Dame commit has seen his recruitment blow up with offers from Alabama, Georgia and USC recently and the 6-foot-1, 186-pounder spoke to Brenna Greene of KRNV about the last month of his recruitment.
“I knew I would continually get offers, but I didn’t expect it to be like this,” McNamara told Greene. “I never expected it to be like this growing up. I always knew I wanted to grow up and play college football. I grew up rooting for USC, and now they’ve offered. The national champions offering me, it’s a huge honor
“I’m still committed, but it’s definitely something big for me. It’s been crazy. I can really go anywhere I want in the country, and it’s a huge blessing.”
Speaking of the national champs, Alabama offered the four-star prospect this week, and one of the best recruiters in the country will be recruiting McNamara.
“They’ve actually been interested in me since last summer,” explained McNamara. “They wanted me to come out to their camp, but I didn’t have the time to make it there. It’s been a crazy experience.
“Coach Tosh Lupoi came by the school, and he’s the recruiter for my area. From there, it just took off.”
Despite the big-time offers, McNamara remains firm in his Notre Dame commitment.
“It’s still very solid,” McNamara said to Greene. “I still listen to the other colleges coming in, but right now, Notre Dame is the place for me.
“All my opportunities are in front of me. I’m graduating a semester early, so I only have a year left in Reno. A lot of things are happening pretty fast right now.”
As for the future, McNamara is focused on this weekend as he will compete for a spot in the prestigious Elite 11 and he hopes it will bump him up the quarterback rankings.
“I have the Elite 11 this weekend, and I hope by the end of the year it’s a lot higher,” said McNamara.
