2019 LB Jack Kiser Reconnects With Lea During Notre Dame Jr. Day
After a pair of unofficial visits to South Bend in the fall, Jack Kiser was back at Notre Dame on Saturday for the Irish’s Junior Day and the 2019 Indiana linebacker was again impressed.
“It was a great visit,” the 6-foot-2, 210-pounder said. “They’re always great hosts. It was pretty fun. It was great weather outside too.”
This visit was a bit different from the trips the Royal Center, Ind., native took back in September for games.
“We got more of the academics and the campus,” Kiser said. “That was a big focus of it.”
The Pioneer High School standout appreciated hearing about that aspect of Notre Dame.
“They’re an elite school in all categories and academics is definitely one,” he said. “They pride themselves on being outstanding and it was really neat to see.”
Kiser hopes to manage in something business-related and heard a basic summary of the program at Notre Dame.
He also had a chance to meet with the defensive staff again, specifically defensive coordinator/linebackers coach Clark Lea.
“I got to talk to Coach Lea some more, just to touch base and really get to know him, about his family and how he coaches and everything like that,” Kiser explained. “It was really good to hear him talk.”
Kiser currently has offers from schools like Iowa, Purdue, Indiana and Michigan State among others, but is still waiting on one from the Irish.
“They want to get down to my school in April just to see me and see my school and talk to my coach,” he said. “They really want me to come back to camp.”
Kiser, who heads to Northwestern for an unofficial visit later this month, isn’t sure when he’ll be able to make it back to Notre Dame.
“We’ll see how the schedule plays out and maybe I can come back up to camp.”
