Early Enrollee TE George Takacs Will Miss Spring Football

Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly opened spring football with a press conference on Monday afternoon. 

Kelly offered some unfortunate news, announcing early enrollee tight end George Takacs will miss spring ball after having surgery to repair a "bucket tear" of his meniscus. 

The 6-foot-6, 235-pounder arrived in January and fellow tight end signee Tommy Tremble will get to South Bend in June after coming off a broken ankle that sidelined him for almost off of his senior season. 

Takacs hauled in 23 receptions for 207 yards and one score in seven games for Gulf Coast (Fla.) in the fall.
