Where Nelson and McGlinchey Fit in Post-Combine Mock Drafts
The NFL Combine is now complete, which means there is that little bit of extra data for NFL teams to adjust their draft boards. Everyone in the media is adjusting their boards as well and with that comes the post-combine mock drafts.
The NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah released his yesterday. He has Quenton Nelson in at number nine to the San Francisco 49ers. He does not have Mike McGlinchey going in the first round. Jeremiah actually only has one offensive tackle, Texas' Connor Williams, coming off the board. There are three other interior offensive lineman in addition to Nelson, though.
Bleacher Report's Matt Miller does have McGlinchey in his first round. He's projected to the Carolina Panthers at twenty four. Nelson he has all the way up at number two to the New York Giants! That's the first time I have seen Nelson projected to go that high, but the NFL Media's Ian Rapaport put out this tweet on Nelson just this morning about Nelson that makes him going in the top-5 more believable.
Miller did a seven round mock and has Equanimeous St. Brown all the way down in the 6th round (to the Oakland Raiders), which doesn't really vibe with the buzz on him afte the combine. Durham Smythe is also projected in the 6th round (to the Dallas Cowboys). Miller also has Josh Adams going in round 5 (to the Philadelphia Eagles).
The Athletic's Chris Burke has Nelson at eight to Tampa Bay ($). McGlinchey is slotted to the Panthers at twenty four, the same spot Miller had him going. Burke and Miller differ A LOT on St. Brown. Burke has EQ higher than I've seen him go on any previous mock drafts. He's all the way up in the second round to Cleveland (thirty fifth overall).
