John Dunmore‍ has dozens of offers from schools like Florida, Florida, State, Georgia, Auburn, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Baylor, Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, Nebraska, Oregon and Wisconsin among others, but the offer he received from Notre Dame back in January certainly caught the 2019 Florida wide receiver’s attention.

“The Notre Dame offer means a great deal to me,” Dunmore said “To understand the education side of things and what a degree from ND will do for me down the line is awesome within itself!”

Dunmore was once committed to Florida, but backed off that pledge the day before receiving his Irish offer.

“As a program, I'm told from my family that Notre Dame has a very rich tradition with football stemming all the way back to the 1800s,” he added. “And to be still very relevant in today's football world, that's impressive!”

Even with so many programs chasing the 6-foot-3, 170-pounder, the Irish coaches have done a good job of making themselves relevant.

“The staff have been great!” Dunmore said. “I'm hearing from everyone on the staff there, even Coach (Brian) Kelly and that's big to me because I need to be able to feel comfortable with not only just the school itself, but also with the staff.

“So, to be able to establish a relationship with the head coach shows me a lot and I do value that.”

The Chaminade Madonna star says Notre Dame is “at the top of my list when I look at schools” to visit, adding, “I would love to visit Notre Dame.”

“I couldn't make it for Junior Day and spring practices due to conflict of schedule,” he continued. I'm running track, participating in 7on7 football with South Florida Express and also participating in football camps such as Rivals, Under Armour and Nike, so I'm pretty busy this spring along with SAT/ACT testing as well.”

But he’s working on getting to South Bend.

“I have been in talks with my family, so hopefully we can seal the deal and get up there this summer so I can get a better feel for the campus and meet the staff in person,” he said.

With so many offers, the Hollywood, Fla., native says he doesn’t have a list of favorites yet, but should have one in the months to come.

“I do plan on releasing a top 10 list somewhere between now and the summer so I can be more focused on my own season heading into the Fall,” he said.

Dunmore says the most important factors in his decision will be education and relationships.
