As a 2020 prospect, Gee Scott Jr. isn’t feeling a ton of pressure with the recruiting process right now, so the Washington wide receiver isn’t worried about getting out to too many schools in the coming months.

“I don’t think I’m doing too many college visits, but I think I’m going to go down to UCLA for a team camp this summer,” the 6-foot-3, 195-pounder said.

Scott said he’s just going to relax and go with the flow.

“Exactly,” he said. “I’m just working on my game.”

The Bellevue, Wash., athlete was in Las Vegas last month working on his game with his Ford Sports Performance 7-on-7 team.

“It went good,” said Scott. “I, personally, think I did OK, but my team fell shorter than we obviously wanted to.

“Just being able to match up against some of the other best players in the country and the experience of being able to be out there with my teammates was exciting.”

Scott already has offers from Notre Dame, USC, UCLA and Oregon among others. He was in South Bend for the Irish’s game against Miami-Ohio back in September and remains seriously interested in Notre Dame.

“I like the football environment,” the Eastside Catholic star said. “Just being down there for one of the games, you can see how seriously they take football down there. It’s great to see that. In such a small town, that is their NFL there.”

He’s remained in touch with the Irish, particularly West Coast recruiter Brian Polian, ever since.

“Just to stay up on my academics and be the best me I can,” he said of the Irish’s message at this time. “That’s all they can really talk about with me being so young.”

Scott said his “goal” is to return to South Bend.

“That would be great,” he said. “I got an invite to their camp this summer. That would be great to be able to get there again.”

A return trip would give Scott a chance to get a better feel for Notre Dame as a program and a school.

“Just a little bit of the insight of the daily life of the players,” he said of what he’d like to see on his next visit. “When I was down there, I got to watch the game and see the locker room after, but it would be great to see how a day as a student-athlete there is.”

Making it for a camp would also give him a chance to work with Irish receivers coach Del Alexander.

“That would be great to see his coaching style and how he wants things to go.”
