2020 FL OL Issiah Walker Eyes Notre Dame Camp
There’s a long way to go before Issiah Walker starts his collegiate football career, but several schools have already taken notice of the 2020 Florida offensive tackle.
Notre Dame is one school that has Walker on its radar and the Irish recently extended an invitation for him to come to their Lineman’s Challenge Camp on June 23rd.
“I’m trying to talk with my coaches now to see if I can go,” the 6-foot-4, 255-pound sophomore said.
Walker doesn’t know much about the Irish, but knows enough to be interested.
“I know they’re a really good program,” he said.
In addition to getting a chance to work out in front of the Notre Dame staff, it would also give him a chance to get to know the people in South Bend better.
“I’d like to meet the coaches to see what they’re like and explore the stadium and all of that,” he said.
The Miami native already has five offers, including offers from Florida, South Carolina and Kentucky among others.
“It feels good,” he said of the early offers. “I just keep on doing what I’ve been doing; hard work. That’s all it is.”
Walker said college coaches like “how I come off the ball and things like that.”
The Norland High School standout has already made a couple trips to Gainesville.
“I visited Florida twice for camps,” he said. “It was real good. I got to meet the coaches.”
He has a couple other visits in mind.
“I want to see Auburn and South Carolina maybe,” he said.
While it is early, he knows what he’s looking for in a college.
“I want a college that makes me feel comfortable, somewhere I feel right at home.”
