Nelson to Bears and McGlinchey to Pats in McShay's Latest Mock

We all know the mutual appreciation Harry Hiestand and Quenton Nelson have for each other. And with the expected quarterback frenzy at the top of this month's NFL Draft, things seem to be falling into place for them to reunite with the Chicago Bears.

ESPN's Toddy McShay is just the latest to project Nelson off the board with the eighth pick to the Bears. It's not a surprise, but with all of the buzz surrounding it, it seems to be a likely scenario.

The most interesting development in this projection by McShay is that he has Mike McGlinchey heading to New England after their recent aquisition of the 23rd pick from the St. Louis Rams. Longtime Patriots offensive line coach Dante Scarnecchia was in attendance at Notre Dame's Pro Day to see McGlinchey work out. With tackle Nate Solder leaving in free agency, McGlinchey would fill an obvious need for the Patriots.

If it goes this way, McGlinchey would not only be the first offensive tackle off the board, he would also be the only one that is selected in the first round. Him and Nelson would be the first two offensive linemen picked as well.

NFL Media's Daniel Jeremiah released an updated top 50 prospects today too. He has Nelson as the 3rd best prospect in the Draft and McGlinchey moved up to 31st (the second ranked offensive tackle).

It's interesting to note that Notre Dame faced 14 of his top 50 prospects this season and it would have been fifteen if Wake Forest safety Jessie Bates was healthy when they played the Irish back in November.
