Notre Dame offensive coordinator Chip Long spoke following Thursday’s practice. 

On quarterback Avery Davis:
“He’s explosive and picks things up really quick. He has good instincts as a route runner, and he can make guys miss. He’s surpassed my expectations. This past week, he’s been an explosive player on offense."

On Davis buying in:
“He’s scoring a lot of touchdowns, so I think he enjoys that and it always helps.
