Quenton Nelson came to Notre Dame in hopes of being a Top 10 draft pick and that's exactly what happened as the Indianapolis Colts took the 6-foot-5, 330-pounder with the 6th pick of the 2018 NFL Draft.

With the selection, Nelson becomes the 67th first round draft pick in school history.

As a senior, Nelson was named a captain and started all 13 games at left guard for the Fighting Irish and was part of an offensive line that paved the way for an offense that averaged nearly 450 yards per game.

For his efforts in 2017, Nelson became the 34th unanimous All-American in program history as well as helping the offensive line win the 2017 Joe Moore Award given to the nation's most outstanding offensive line.

Nelson committed to the Irish on May 1st, 2013, a few months after a visit to South Bend. The former four-star recruit held offers from schools like Alabama, Boston College, Michigan State, and Ohio State among others.

The Holmdel, New Jersey native was one of four freshmen offensive lineman who spent the season on the scout team and didn’t see any playing time on the field.

As a first-year starter in 2015, Nelson was part of an offensive line that helped the team average 5.63 yards per carry which set a modern school record. He also blocked for 10 individual 100-yard rushers, the most by the Irish since 1983.

In 2016, he started all 12 games at left guard. He was also a part of an offensive line that helped the Irish offense average over 400 yards per game.
