Bam Bam Brima‍ has seen his recruitment steadily pick up steam in recent months and the 2019 defensive end is expecting a visit from Notre Dame sometime this week at Loyalsock Township High School in Williamsport, Penn.

“It’s a big school,” the 6-foot-6, 230-pounder said of Notre Dame. “Some of my coaches really like it. It’s a great opportunity to get to know coaches.

“It’d be cool to play for a school that’s Independent. I think they’re the best Independent school.”

Brima also noted his mother is fond of Notre Dame.

Brima is up to double-digit scholarship offers from schools like Cincinnati, Temple, UConn, UMass, Buffalo and Kent State among others.

“It’s pretty cool,” he said. “It’s not what I expected coming into high school.”

He’s made visits to schools like Penn State, UConn, UMass and Buffalo among others.

South Bend could end up being added to that list someday.

“Definitely,” Brima said of the possibility of visiting Notre Dame. “If they offered me, I’d come out to see the school.”

Originally from Worcester, Mass., Brima followed his father down to Pennsylvania prior to his junior season and made a tremendous impact for Loyalsock immediately.

“For a big guy, I’m a pretty good sprinter,” said Brima, who was clocked at 4.7 in the 40-yard dash at a recent camp.

“I get after the ball. I’m pretty long.”

He hopes to find a college where he would be able to come in and smoothly adapt to the school and football program.

“How easy the transition would be for me to get there, how I would fit in,” he said of the biggest factors to his ultimate decision. “I don’t want to be just a blank space.”

Brima isn’t a huge fan of the process, but he won’t rush a commitment either.

“In all honesty, I’m sick of recruiting. I’d probably make the decision in the fall or something.”
