2020 Bay City Central (Mich.) receiver Devell Washington‍ was fired up on Wednesday night for Notre Dame’s Elite Skills Camp this weekend. The 6-foot-4, 200-pounder has had the date circled and is looking forward to showing his skill set to the Notre Dame coaching staff.

“It’s going to be insane,” Washington told Irish Sports Daily. “It will be sweet to get down to Notre Dame for camp.”

Washington has been in contact with Notre Dame, and the three-star prospect is hoping to show his athleticism on Saturday.

“They want to see my versatility and the ability to go get the football,” said Washington.”

The trip to South Bend will kick off a hectic summer for the Michigan native as he plans to hit as many camps as he can.

“I’m going to Cincinnati right after the Notre Dame camp on Sunday,” explained Washington. “I’ll also camp at Michigan, Michigan State, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan and Toledo.”

Washington isn’t a stranger to Notre Dame as he has attended a game and came away impressed with the Irish program.

“I’ve been to Notre Dame for a game,” stated Washington. “I like the environment and how the coaches treat their players.”

As a Michigan prospect, Washington believes the Wolverines could be close to extending an offer. Washington also admitted he didn’t have a dream school even with close ties to Michigan State and it’s a name Notre Dame fans will recognize.

“I think I have a high chance to get an offer from Michigan soon,” Washington said. “I really didn’t have a dream school. I just like playing football. I never really thought about a favorite school. My uncle, Charles Rogers, played at Michigan State.”

Washington’s recruitment is still young, but he already holds offers from Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan and Toledo. The goal this summer will be to increase his offer list, but he already knows what will be the driving force in his recruitment.

“Academics are going to be important for me,” said Washington. “I want to study Kinesiology.”
