BREAKING: 2019 LB Jack Kiser Gives Commitment To Notre Dame
Notre Dame wanted to add athleticism to the linebacker unit with the 2019 class, and the search didn’t take them far from South Bend.
2019 Pioneer (Ind.) linebacker Jack Kiser will go to school just an hour away from home as the three-star prospect committed to Notre Dame a week ago, but went public with his decision on Tuesday evening.
Notre Dame’s prestigious academics were a significant part of the 6-foot-2, 210-pounder’s decision and seeing them up close was a tipping point.
“They’re an elite school in all categories and academics is definitely one,” he said. “They pride themselves on being outstanding, and it was really neat to see.”
The Irish extended an offer to Kiser after defensive coordinator Clark Lea watched him work out in May.
Lea and Kiser have developed a strong relationship over the past year, which included multiple visits to Notre Dame.
Kiser visited for the Temple and Georgia games in the fall, Junior Day in March and an unofficial visit in June.
On those visits, Kiser was able to see what makes the Notre Dame program unique, but also where he could fit in.
“They have all of this tradition in their culture,” said Kiser. “It’s a unique place, it really is.”
