Dylan Barrett‍ made a pair of trips to Notre Dame back in March and April, but the 2020 Illinois offensive lineman knows it’ll be different when he returns on Saturday for the Irish’s Lineman’s Challenge Camp, where he’ll get the chance to show the coaches what he can do.

The 6-foot-5, 290-pounder saw his recruiting profile rise within the last month with some big-time offers.

“My big recent offers are from Wisconsin, Purdue, Northwestern and Iowa,” he explained. “It’s been amazing seeing their campuses and working with their staffs. Gives me a better feel.”

Since his visits to Notre Dame, he’s remained in touch with the staff, especially offensive line coach Jeff Quinn.

“I’ve been in constant communication with Coach Quinn throughout the weeks,” the St. Charles East High School standout said.

“He said that he is very excited for me to come down and perform.”

Barrett is confident he’ll be able to show the Irish coaches what he’s about on Saturday.

“I hope to show my attitude and my love for the game and my determination to play at the next level and hopefully make an even better image of me to them,” he said.

He’s also looking forward to getting a better feel for the staff and improve his game.

“Just to see how performing there feels like and just working with the coaches to get better and learn,” he said of what he wants to get out of the camp.

An Irish offer would be huge to Barrett.

“A Notre Dame offer would mean so much to me like any offer I have or get because it’s an opportunity to play at the next level and get a great education,” he said.

Moving forward, he plans to visit the schools that have offered him already along with Michigan State.
