It’s safe to say Blayne Toll‍ caught the attention of the Notre Dame staff during last week’s Elite Skills Camp, specifically Irish offensive coordinator/tight ends coach Chip Long.

“It went very good,” said Toll, a 2020 athlete from Arkansas, who could play various positions, but worked out at tight end for this camp.

“I think I performed really well. They didn’t tell us our times on our stuff, but I think I did really good.”

Toll may not have learned his times, but he did learn that Long will have a close eye on him early this fall.

“He said I might get some really good news after he watches a couple of my games this year,” Toll said of Long.

The 6-foot-5, 235-pounder already has offers from Oklahoma State, Louisville, Memphis and Rutgers, but isn’t getting ahead of himself with the Irish.

“I’m not sure what it means, because I don’t want to count my chickens before the eggs hatch,” he said.

He did get a good feel for Long as a coach during the visit.

“He’s a really good coach,” the Hazen, Ark., native said. “I think he’ll be something really big one of these days.”

Toll also enjoyed getting a look at Notre Dame.

“It’s a really nice school,” he said.

When asked what stood out, he pointed to “the size of each class being about 20 kids.”

Toll plans to check out Oklahoma State soon and wants to remain in contact with the Irish as well.

“I’ll try to stay in touch with them,” he said.

He doesn’t feel like he needs to see more of Notre Dame, “They showed me everything,” but would be willing to return to check out a game.

“If they want me to, I will.”
