2020 OL Dylan Barrett Enjoys Latest Notre Dame Stop
After a pair of unofficial visits to Notre Dame back in the spring, Dylan Barrett returned to South Bend last week to participate in the Irish’s Lineman’s Challenge.
The 2020 Illinois offensive lineman was pleased with his performance.
“I think it went well,” the 6-foot-3, 285-pounder said.
“I had a good camp day overall.”
In recent weeks, the St. Charles, Ill., native saw a major boost in his recruitment with offers coming in from Wisconsin, Iowa, Northwestern and Purdue.
The Irish were glad to have the chance to see Barrett work out in person and told him they would be keeping a close eye on him moving forward.
“They are going to keep recruiting me and hopefully will be the next guy up for a spot,” said Barrett, who also has offers from schools like Illinois, Northern Illinois and Western Michigan.
During the event, he had the opportunity to speak with Irish assistants Jeff Quinn, Tom Rees and others.
Even after two recent visits, Notre Dame managed to impress Barrett again.
“The culture is way more than I thought, in a good way,” he explained. “It was awesome to experience.”
He’s going to look into making another stop at South Bend in the coming months but could start focusing on the offers he already has when he gets toward the fall.
“I’ll try to get back there but this summer will be big for where I end up with ND,” he said.
He has a few other visits in mind for next month as well.
“I plan on visiting Illinois, Iowa, and Michigan State in later July.”
