BREAKING: 2019 WR TJ Sheffield Commits To Notre Dame
Heading into the summer, Notre Dame needed receivers and six days into July, the Irish have two as 2019 Independence (Tenn.) receiver TJ Sheffield has committed to Notre Dame.
The 5-foot-10, 170-pounder gave his pledge to the Irish just two days after Notre Dame added 2019 receiver, Cam Hart.
The four-star prospect last visited Notre Dame for Junior Day in January, and it made a lasting impression as he saw receivers coach Del Alexander gives a fair shake to all his guys regardless of class.
“He gives a fair chance for all the wide receivers to play,” stated Sheffield. “He gives them fair reps in practice too.”
The opportunity to succeed off the field was also a big sticking point for Sheffield.
“I would get a great degree and go out in the real world and make a lot of money,” Sheffield said. “I know I would be successful with a degree from Notre Dame.”
Sheffield narrowed his list down to a Top 4 in May and chose the Irish over Arkansas, Ohio State and Purdue.
High School Stats: 107 receptions for 1,746 yards and 15 touchdowns.
