For anybody keeping a close on the City Rocks EYBL basketball program this season, it’d be hard to miss Andre Jackson, an uber-athletic 6-foot-6 swingman in the Class of 2020.

Notre Dame has certainly kept a close eye on City Rocks, whose roster includes 2019 targets Isaiah Stewart and Joe Girard, and the Irish have certainly noticed Jackson. And even if they haven’t reached out to Jackson directly just yet, he’s been aware of their presence on the circuit, specifically Irish head coach Mike Brey's.

“I haven’t heard from them yet, but I saw him in the stands,” Jackson said of Brey following a showcase featuring City Rocks and Expressions Elite in Springfield, Mass., last week.

“I’m just hoping to showcase my best talent and come out and work hard and work together.”

Jackson doesn’t know a ton about Notre Dame yet, but knows enough to be interested.

“Joe Girard, who has been my teammate for a year on the EYBL circuit, he’s considering Notre Dame,” he said. “Just seeing them at every game as they’re recruiting him. I know they’re really good at football, they have a real good football legacy. It’s a real good school academically. I like it.”

Jackson’s scholarship count has quickly reached double-digits.

“I’m not exactly sure about the number,” said Jackson, who recently added offers from Indiana and Dayton to a list that already included programs like Syracuse, Maryland, Cincinnati, Iowa, UConn and UMass among others.

“It’s humbling to be honest,” Jackson said of the early offers. “It makes you want to work and work to get more, higher schools and better schools academically.”

The Albany Academy star has already taken a couple visits.

“I took unofficials to Syracuse and UConn,” he said. “I like both of them. They’re really opposite because of the coaches and coaching styles. They’re both really good programs. I like both of the coaches and the staffs, so I’m definitely considering both.

“I’m looking to take unofficials to more colleges like Maryland who offered me and whoever else is willing to put in the time.”

Jackson said one of the key factors in his ultimate decision is “definitely comfort.”

“I want to be comfortable in the school. I’m going to be going away from home, so I want to be comfortable with people I can trust from what they say to me in the beginning.”
